"A Warrior Has Gained His Wings"

Tre'son Larcenia Templeton, age 31, son of Bradley and Elaine Templeton, was born in Topeka, KS on March 26, 1992. He was the middle child but was the baby boy of the family.

In his younger years, Tre stayed rooted in his grandfather's church, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist. He also was a part of his mother's church where he was involved in the youth service program. Additionally, he participated in the church's Christian rap group and performed at local churches.

Tre'son graduated from James Madison High School in 2010. He was a quiet and peaceful giant who had a heart filled with kindness and compassion. He would reach out to help anyone in need.

Tre'son had a passion for music and was a great lyricist. He also loved to draw, play basketball, watch documentaries and he loved researching to enhance his knowledge. He was a visionary and could have been a reporter or started his own podcast.

Tre'son’s journey was halted when he was diagnosed with grade IV (4) astrocytoma, a form of brain cancer in June of 2022. The cancer is very aggressive and has no known cure.

Tre'son, the warrior, began his battle to fight for his life. The dangerous position of the brain tumor only allowed removal of 80% of the cancer.

Tre'son transitioned from Kansas to Texas to prepare for the next step of his battle at MD Anderson where he would start various treatments to stop the progression. Upon arriving in Houston, we were met by a large, beautiful butterfly sitting stationary on his sister’s house. The butterfly was a symbol for us as his spirit animal representing hope and transformation. Notably, when Tre arrived in San Antonio to continue his treatment, there was another large, rare butterfly on his mother’s house.

Tre'son was very passionate about his beliefs and stood firm on them. He believed that the cure lied in eating clean and healthy, as well as taking his holistic supplements.

Tre'son was still ready to fight, but God called him home so that he wouldn't suffer anymore. Whenever we see a Butterfly, we will know that you are nearby!

Tre'son you are gone too soon, but we will see you soon!

You will be forever in our hearts!

Tre'son was preceded in Heaven's gain by his grandfather, MSG Eugene P. Hayes, grandmother, Gladys M. Hayes, grandfather, Rev. W. L. Templeton, grandmother, Barbara J. Templeton, aunt CSM Genetta D. Pasco and cousins.

Tre'son leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Elaine Templeton, father, Bradley Templeton, his sisters: Chanson Tia Hayes, Lexus Templeton, Valerie Harmon and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces Alaysia, Ava, Aubrionna, nephew Amiri and friends.
