Theodore Shields Brown was the third child of four born February 28, 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to the late William K. Brown and Mavis Marjorie Shields-Brown.
Teddy as we fondly called him, accepted Christ as his personal Savior and excelled in his catechism studies at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He was endeavored to be a faithful follower of God's word throughout his life.
As a youth, he was active in sports. He played little league baseball with the "Tigers" at Lincoln Park and later played football in the pop warner league for the Ft Sam Houston "Rattlers" where he excelled as a star running back.
He attended George W. Brackenridge High School and graduated in 1967. He continued his education and excelled academically. His grades earned him a consistent position on the Dean's list. He took his Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree from Prairie View A&M University, Prairie View, Texas and graduated at the top of his class. During his tenure at "PV" he was a member of the elite "Pershing Rifles" ROTC drill team. He rose to the position of Brigade Commander.
Upon graduation from PV, he was commissioned and entered the Army's flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He loved flying the Huey helicopters and rose to the rank of Captain. His military career took him around the world. He did tours in Southeast Asia and Europe. He was the captain in the Army's elite Medical unit known as "Dust Off. He flew as the chief pilot of his unit until his health failed.
Ted met and united in Holy matrimony with Eleanor Askey. To this union two children were born, Tellicia and Tarise. Later in life he married again and to this unite a son, Tony, was born.
He was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, his parents, W.K.Brown and Mavis Brown, and both daughters, Tellicia Brown and Tarise Shepherd.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Son Tony Brown, Brother Reverend Dr. Ronald K. Brown (Panzia), Sister, Marcia L. Brown, Sister in Law Gloria J . Brown, granddaughter Brittney Shepherd and family, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
