TERRI LYNN WILLIAMS

August 18, 1963 ~ August 6, 2023 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Obituary

Terri Womack Williams went home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2023.  Terri graduated Valedictorian of Phillis Wheatley High School in 1981 and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a bachelor of arts degree in political science, and most recently earned her Master of Public Administration from UTSA in 2023.

Her successful professional career spans over 30 years in economic development.  She realized that economic development and financial stability were critical to improving the lives of underserved persons, especially women and minority populations.  As the current Regional Director of the Small Business Center for Government Contracting at the University of Texas at San Antonio, she focused on assisting small business owners and women in contracting.   She participated in annual trips from San Antonio to Washington, DC. to lobby on behalf of small and women owned businesses. In 2019, she provided crucial testimony to the Committee on Small Business as she discussed challenges and solutions for small business cyber security issues and access to broad band internet for small businesses in rural areas.

Terri was elected a member of the board of trustees for the North East Independent School District (NEISD) in 2018 and was currently serving as Vice-President of the NEISD Board of Trustees.  She was also elected to a three-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 20, Position E in 2021, which covers Bexar and surrounding counties.

She leaves her devoted and loving husband Clarence G, her sons, Johnathan F. (wife, Tajah) Williams and Clarence M; one grandson, Zakahri; uncle John Franklin of Galveston, Texas and mother-in law, Jerelyne Williams.
