STEPHEN CLEMONS Obituary

Stephen J. Clemons was born on October 12, 1958. He was born to the late Sgt. Jessie Clemons and Elizabeth Clemons of San Antonio, Texas.

Stephen graduated from Sam Houston High - class of 1976. He later attended Texas College. Stephen served the Army National Guard as a Communications Equipment Operator and was Honorably Discharged due to chronic health conditions of which he suffered many years.

Stephen united in Holy Matrimony to Vanessa Lawson on January 18, 2009. Stephen had a beautiful voice and sense of humor that will never be forgotten.

Stephen enjoyed being employed with a major publishing company until his health required him to retire. Even though he was chronically ill he was a loving and devoted guardian to his sister Debbie for many years. Stephen united with Zion Star Missionary Baptist Church in November of 2016. He had been chosen to become a Deacon in January 2020 and he was looking forward to serving God in that capacity.

After a lengthy illness, Stephen went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

Stephen leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Vanessa. One son: Stephen of Maryland. Four sisters: Gloria Davis (Allen) of Arlington, TX; Debbie Clemons and Beverly Clemons both of San Antonio; and Wendy Smiley (Rickey) of New Orleans. One grandson, Demari demons. His nieces: Erica Foster, Tracy Davis, Jaime Foster, Brandy Clemons, Elaine Foster, and Althea Davis. And one nephew: Michael Foster. He also leaves several great nieces and nephews. Stephen had many friends and was well respected.
