March 18, 1944 ~ March 22, 2023

Sewilla Felder was born on March 18, 1944.  She was born in Flatonia, Texas to the late Willie and Ardelia Godley.  On Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 11:11 pm, due to health complications, God called her from labor to reward.

She graduated from Randolph High School, in LaGrange, Texas and continued her education at Huston Tillotson College in Austin, Texas, where she graduated with her Bachelors of Arts in Education in 1966. Sewilla moved to San Antonio, Texas after completing her education and started her teaching career.  She taught for 32 years in Edgewood ISD and San Antonio ISD. She retired in 1998.

Sewilla was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ardelia Godley and her siblings Cora Williams, Nancy Godley (Nannie), Willie B. Williams, Audrey Lighteard (Jean), Robert Godley, and Ruby Godley (Brother).

In 1968, Sewilla married Clarence Felder, and to this union two daughters were born. She is survived by her daughters, Felicia Felder-Hutson of Cheltenhem, Philadelphia and Tanya (Raymond) Howard of San Antonio, Texas, three granddaughters (Ciara, Cinaa and Cirayna), four grandsons (Eraycio, Samuel, Josiah and Tim), sister, Rosetta Loud (Puddon) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

“There are many things in life, that we do not understand, but we must trust God’s judgment and be guided by his hand, and all who have God’s blessings can rest safely in his care, for he promises safe passage on the wings of faith and prayer”

We’re praying for guidance, strength and comfort for the days ahead for the family. God blessings to each of you… Peace, Love ❤️and Light!

  2. To the Godley/Fielder family: You all are in my thoughts and prayers during your time of sorrow. I met Mrs. Sewilla many years ago. My late husband was Arthur Butler, Jr. from Muldoon, TX and I wanted you all to know I was sadden to hear she has passed away, but know that she is in a better place. God bless her family.

  3. She was the best teacher I ever had in las palmas elementry. I enjoyed her story telling. She was my history teacher in1983 and I enjoy going to her class every day of the week.
