Our beloved Daddy Sam came into this world on March 24, 1928, one of seven children born to Manuel and Martha Galloway. Sam was a child of God at a young age and was a devoted servant to the Lord. His passionate love for singing was one of his faithful ways of serving and praising God. Sam was also faithful in reading his Bible every day. He had a favorite saying from one of the many songs he sang, “Keep your Bible with you, and read it every day.” Sam worked for Joe Freeman Coliseum and the AT&T Spurs Organization for over 28 years where he retired in 2018. He spent the last 25 years at his home in the country and also had a big love for animals and gardening.
Sam met and married the love of his life Mary Williams on August 29, 1949, and to this union 4 children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Martha, his beloved wife Mary, his daughter Linda Rountree and her husband Anthony Rountree, and his granddaughter Eugena Galloway.
Sam lived a long, happy and blessed life. He lived life to the fullest, and always had a smile on his face that would make you smile. He had a kind word for all who came into his presence. He had several famous sayings, but his truest one was…
“When you meet me, you may not like me, but once
you get to know me you will always love me”
Sam departed this world to his Heavenly home on January 19. He leaves to mourn his sons Vernon (Barbara), Samuel Sr., and his daughter Cheryl (John), 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren which will continue the Galloway Legacy. Sam was also blessed with an abundance of family, friends, 3 cats and other pets.
We love you Daddy Sam and you will truly be missed!
