Rudolph W. Glover "Rudy" was born January 25, 1942 in Liberty City Miami, Florida. He was the beloved son of the late Rudolph W. Glover Sr. and Frankie Harris Glover. He graduated from Northwestern High School in Liberty City, Florida in 1959 and entered the US Air Force in June, 1961. Upon completion of basic training, he was assigned to Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, NH.
Rudy married Florence Walker at Pease Air Force Chapel. Over the next few years they were blessed with three sons-Anthony Angelo, Waldron Guy And Jeffrey Rudolph. Anthony and Waldron are both deceased; Jeffrey is the Pastor of Perfecting the Saints Church International in Hampton, Georgia.
Rudy's military career spanned over 25 years; he retired as Command Chief Master Sergeant. His military responsibilities included customs inspector, Postal inspector, investigator superintendent, basic military training squadron, senior enlisted advisor, ground launch cruise missile Wing deputy, Director of administration and resources headquarters.
Rudy's command level awards and certificates includes; Air training command master instructor, Air Force Master blue rope training instructor, two Meritorious service medals, three Air Force commendation medals and numerous ribbons and certificates.
Rudy always aspired to continue his education earning his Masters in Criminal Justice, Bachelors in Law Enforcement Management, (Magna Cum Laude). He also completed various training courses that include private security, sales management and private investigation.
Rudy was an entrepreneur at heart. He was the owner of Marathon Automotive Group, Velvey Glove Inc., and Marathon Security/Investigation.
Rudy worked with Bexar County Sheriff Office from 1992-2003, assigned to Patrol, Warrants, Organized Crime ( Vice Gang) and Magistrate units. He was later promoted to the rank of lieutenant with the sheriffs office support group. He served as deputy chief commander Bexar County Constable precinct to support division and also served as department executive officer and chief of narcotics canine and special ops unit.
Rudy truly loved his family both immediate and extended and an was an awesome provider. He was known to be a nononsense but fair person with such a zest for life; His upbeat personality and his continual generosity,and an impact in the lives of everyone he met. Many years ago Rudy accepted Jesus in his heart as his Lord and Savior with the help of his son Jeffrey R. Glover. Rudy has ran his race and went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2020 A man of caliber and a true warrior who will truly be missed and loved.
Rudy leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, friend and companion of 58 years Florence W. Glover, his son Pastor Jeffrey R. Glover (Gloria) ,his grand-children Latoya, Natasha,Nicole,. Monique, Waldron,Jr.
