Ronald “Ronnie” Wilson was born on September 12, 1959, as the first child from the union of John Henry and Barbara Jean Wilson. Ronnie was the second oldest of his siblings Deborah (Rahman) Wilson-Diamond, Bruce (Bonnie) Wilson, Shawn (Amanda) Adams, and Robert (Nicole) Wilson.
Ronnie graduated from John Jay High School in 1978. Soon after, Ronnie joined the Navy where he served four years as a cook. Following his Navy career his passion for culinary arts in the civilian world started. He was a natural leader and entrepreneur, having had several successful business ventures during his lifetime. He was a jack of all trades. He was a pool champion. He could replace a transmission, sew a suit, cook Thanksgiving dinner, play dominoes, and give you a piece of his mind; all with a smile on his face, a cigarette in his lips, and a beer in his hand. Ronnie was an adoring family man, making sure the family stayed together, played together, and loved together. Always “around the corner”, Ronnie was the man you could call if you were in a bind.
After a beautiful Father’s Day with his children, Ronnie went to sleep and awoke in Paradise on June 21, 2021. There he was met by his father, maternal and paternal grandparents, and many other loved ones who have passed on before him. Mourning the loss of his physical existence are his mother, siblings, children: Demetric Jackson, Monica Wilson, Diamonique Jackson, Jenevieve Foreman, and Ronald Wilson Jr., as well as a host of other family and friends.
