ROBERT LEE WALKER, son of the late Ulysses Walker and Susie Grant-Walker, was born in Waelder, Texas on January 28, 1927. He was the third child of four siblings. He accepted Christ at an early age. He departed this life at the age of 93 at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center on November 1, 2020.
Robert relocated to San Antonio, Texas with his mother and siblings at a young age. After working various jobs, he enlisted in the United States Army. A few short years as a infantryman, his career was shortened due to injuries sustained in the Korean War and PVT Robert Lee Walker was medically discharged as a disabled Veteran. He completed a successful career as a United States Postal Service Worker and earned a well-deserved retirement . As a photographer Robert Lee enjoyed capturing weddings, family gatherings and other social events for the local community. At a young age, he joined the Walker family’s church, Grant Memorial AME Church located on the westside of San Antonio, Texas. In his latter years he served on the Usher board at Believers Christian Church, San Antonio, Texas. He was known at Believers Christian Church as "A really faithful child of God Who loved God."
Robert is survived by nieces and nephews: Grant Walker ( Gloria), Bennie Ree Moss, Joseph Walker (Sharon), Charles Walker, Herbert Walker (Olivia), Johnie Walker (Kathy), Vanessa Bennet (Mark), Sarah Hardin, Sharon Holdipp (Dave) and a host of great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
