Murray Lee Youngblood, Jr., 57, was born on December 23,1964 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Ethel Mae Myles and Murray Lee Youngblood, Sr. Murray attended Caddo Parish Public Schools. He was a 1982 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. Murray was a star of the Woodlawn Knights basketball team. After high school, he continued his education at DeVry Institute of Technology where he received his certification in Electronics.
Murray was employed for many years by Wachter, Inc. as an electrician. He enjoyed his career and the opportunity it gave him to travel across the country. When he was not working, Murray had many hobbies that he enjoyed, including golfing and playing basketball. Most recently, he was also a video game enthusiast. Murray also loved spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored.
Murray departed this life on Monday, July 18, 2022, in Clarksville, Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael Todd Youngblood, and grandmother, Ona Boxley Cook. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Melanie Bentley Youngblood, of Cibolo, Texas; son, Jamar Raphael Brown and wife Miriam Sievers, Esquires, of Baltimore, Maryland; daughter, Markisa Youngblood of Cibolo, Texas; stepson, Maurice Allen and wife Candance of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandchildren, Eli Murray Presquit of Cibolo, Texas and Ellis and Liora Sievers-Brown of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Calvin Ray Youngblood of Shreveport, Louisiana; two aunts, Deloris Marlowe and husband Herman and Marie Lattin and husband Jerry of Shreveport, Louisiana; nephew, Todd Youngblood, Jr. Quinlan, Texas; two nieces, Brandi Smith of Houston, Texas and Safire Youngblood of Quinlan, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
