On May 7, 1962, Michael George Green was the first born to Juliette Green in San Antonio, Texas and R. Shepard who preceded him in death along with his grandparents. On October 26, 2021 at about 9:00 AM, the lights went out on Earth for Michael George Green. His heavenly light now shines so bright in Heaven with his father and grandparents.
Michael grew up in the Olmos Park/Kinwood area of San Antonio. He attended Sojourner Truth Elementary, Alamo Heights Middle School and graduated from South San West Campus High School, where he was a star football player. Michael attended Sul Ross University and San Antonio College. Michael played semi-pro football.
Michael grew up in the church because Josie Jackson said so. He was baptized and grew up in Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. He truly believed in the sanctity of Jesus Christ. He was active in church as a child and an avid Bible reader. When Jones Chapel merged with St. Paul United Methodist Church, he continued his membership there.
Michael worked at Waitz Model Market at a young age and worked in Austin, Texas for Day Hill. After returning to San Antonio, he was employed with H. E. B. until his health failed in 2020.
Michael is survived by his mother Juliette Green; children Tevin Michael Green of Austin, Texas, Michael George Green, Jr. and Catrina Yvette Green both of San Antonio, Texas; sister Rochelle Y. Green of San Antonio, Texas; aunts Barbara J. Gardner and Jo Ann Foster both of San Antonio, Texas; uncle Reverend Eddie B. Green of Stockton, California and a host of other relatives and friends.
