MARTHA WASHINGTON Obituary

Martha Mae (Reams) Washington, was born on April 29th, 1951 to the late Jeff & Mary (McCoy) Reams of Wabbaseka, Arkansas. Martha was the 8th of 9 children. Martha accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church. While living in Wabbaseka Martha attended and graduated from J.S. Walker High school. After graduation she moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas to attend University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she earned a degree in Nutrition.            

Martha married Mr. Roy S. Washington in September of 1973. They celebrated 41 years of marriage & friendship together. Martha was a mother to three children. Martha began her career at Roseland Hospital, just before moving to Indiana, where she continued her career at the Gary Health Department and WIC Program until 2007.           

Martha was a member of Believers Fellowship Non-Denominational Church of Gary, Indiana where she was over the Youth Department. The family moved to San Antonio, TX  to be close to family and escape the colder weather. Martha continued her career as a Clinical Nutritionist until her health required her to retire.  While living in San Antonio, Martha was a member of the New Life Christian Center of San Antonio, TX and later joined Family Life International Ministry, her final church home, Bishop Alfred Blue, Pastor.           

Martha is preceded in death by her parents Jeff & Mary Reams, her husband Roy Washington, and son Roy Christopher Washington. She leaves behind her siblings Geraldine, Thomas, Bernice, Adam, and Jeff Reams to cherish her memory with her two daughters and son-in-law Aline Washington, and Andrea & Ronnail Howard. Martha also leaves behind her two sisters Pearline Adam of Arizona and Linda Ream of San Antonio; TX,  her close cousins Belinda Taylor of San Antonio, TX,  Henry & Anita Reams of Austin TX, Charles and Laverne Coleman of Pine Bluff Ark, 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, and a host of other beloved family members.
