LULA HATCH Obituary

On December 25, 2020, Christmas Day,. Lula B. Hatch transitioned from earthly to eternal life at the blessed age of 93. She was the fourth of five children and baby girl born to the late Willie McBride Floyd and Crist Floyd in Elgin, TX. on August 26, 1927. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She later moved to San Antonio, TX., presently a member of Antioch Baptist Church, pastor Kenneth Kemp.

Lula attended grade school in the Elgin ISD., Bastrop County, Texas. Later, she attended St. Philips College earning Associate Degrees in Tailoring and Accounting.

She met and married the late Calvin Hatch and to this union two children were born, Charles Ray Hatch and Lois J. Hatch.

She was employed by Kelly Air Force Base for over 20 years retiring in 1992.

Lula's passion in life was sewing as she was a skilled Seamstress/Tailor. She also loved antiques and was an antique Dealer who became the first Black Female in San Antonio to hold an Estate Sale.

She was personable and loved people, never knew a stranger. She will always be remembered for her welcoming and encouraging personality.

She is preceded in death by her husband Calvin Hatch; parents, Willie McBride Floyd and Crist Floyd; son Charles Ray Hatch; grandson Keith Hatch; siblings Willie M. Meeks, Leslie Floyd, Lillie L. Jones, and James Floyd. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, a daughter, Lois Hatch Bell; son Ricky Frater; ;grandchildren, Sonya Wallace(Roy), Carl Woodard, Ashley Gertman (Alvin), 8 chosen grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews , cousins and a host of friends.
