LUCY DYKES Obituary

Lucy Mae Dykes was born to Ennis Teague & Flora Jones on April 3rd 1925 in Coxes Province, Texas. She was raised by her loving Aunt Dela & Uncle William. At an early age Lucy moved to Milano Texas where she attended & Graduated from Milano High School. It was at this time she nurtured her love for the Lord & also met her soulmate, Antone Dykes Jr. The two were soon married & it was also at this time Antone answered his calling to the ministry. They moved throughout Texas where they eventually settled down in San Antonio.

As they traveled throughout Texas, Lucy & Antone were blessed with 3 Children: Russell, Antoinette & Reginald. While she supported her husband in the life of ministry, Lucy also earned nursing certifications for Baptist Memorial Hospital working in the nursery. Lucy also remained active in the church by serving on the communion board & in the choir, where she lead songs such as "He's Able" & "Precious Lord".

After many years in the nursery, Lucy retired & continued to support her husband in his ministries until the Lord called the late Dr. Rev. Antone Dykes to glory in 2003. Lucy continued to serve the Lord with support of her two closest friends, Annie Walker & Mary Emerson until the Lord called Lucy home peacefully to reunite with her soulmate on May 22nd 2021. Mrs. Dykes is survived by her 3 Loving Children & their spouses, 7 Loving Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren & a multitude of other Family members & friends who all Loved & Cherished Her. It is an understatement that we will miss our new guardian angel.

Till we meet again Mrs.Dykes.
