LILLIE CARTER Obituary

Our beloved mother, Lillie Mae Carter (Mommo) was born to the late George Koonce and Della Hargrow on May 17, 1931, in Louise, TX.

In 1946, she married Leonard Bernard Boston and to this union four daughters were born, Ella Mae Boston, Ida Bell Boston, Mary Jo Boston, and Sherry Lynn Boston.

Lillie confessed to Christ at an early age at Rising Star Baptist Church under the late Rev. Singletary. They were very active in church with their children.

Lillie moved to San Antonio, TX with her children in 1969 and was employed as a domestic help until she retired.

Lillie found a church home at Wheatley Heights First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cunningham. She also attended Tree Mount Temple under the leadership of Rev. Brown. She presently united at Wheatley Heights First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L.A. Williams, Jr.

In 1978, she married Mr. Edgar Carter.

Lillie is proceeded in death by her husbands: Leonard Bernard Boston, Edgar Carter, daughters Ida Bell Boston, Mary Jo Boston (Caesar), two sisters Betty Ruth Miller and Dorothy Mae Bishop, son-in-law John Marvin Hill Sr., and great grandson Jamari Darnell Dukes.

Lillie is survived by her daughters Ella Mae Granville (Floyd Sr.), Sherry Lynn Hill, grandchildren Scheree Granville, Timothy O’Neal Boston (Eboney), Leonard Hill, Frank Nathan Caesar III (Hopie), Floyd II, Tomisha (Missy) Tomlin, John Hill, Jr. (Monique), 18 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, and play sister Mrs. Louse Broome, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.
