Mr. Leon Washington Sr. was born September 17, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. William Major Washington in Hillsboro, Texas. On December 18, 2019 at 5:37 am the Lord called him home while surrounded by his family in San Antonio Texas.
Leon honorably served his country for 21 years in the United States Army as a Practical Nurse for 12 years & 10 months and a Medical Specialist for 9 years and 6 months. While in service he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, 2 Oversea Service Bars, Good Conduct Medal, an Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and an M-16 Expert Qualification Badge. After retiring from the U.S Army, he continued to live his life in an inspirational manner by instilling principles to all supportive characters in his everyday life.
Leon leaves behind his wife of 26 years Olga Washington; Brother Paul Washington; Children: Lucy, Oscar, Lourdes, Leon Jr., Alexis, and Laurice; twelve grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Our Angel on earth is now our Angel in heaven watching over us, whom will be missed dearly, as his legacy will live on within us through his lessons, guidance, wisdom, and leadership.
