Brother Lawrence A. Fryer was born December 7, 1937. He went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2022.
Lawrence was born in Gonzales, Texas to Lawrence B. Fryer and Zella Elizabeth Fryer. He was the oldest of 5 children.
In 1956 Lawrence graduated from Phyllis, Wheatley High School in San Antonio, Texas. He married Ruthie Mae Jackson on April 4, 1958 To this union 6 six kids were born: Patricia Ann Lyons, Cheryl Ann Nunez, Florence Y. Moore(Floyd F. Moore III), Kathy L. Lee (EC Lee), Ricky Lawrence Fryer (Julianne Fryer), and Victor A. Fryer.
Lawrence enlisted the United States Army from 1960 to 1982. He retired as an SGM(E-9). He was Vietnam Veteran and a highly decorated Army Recruiter. From 1984 - 2002 he worked his second career at the US Postal Service.
Lawrence was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to hunt deer, dove, and wild hogs. Lawrence loved to cook, barbecue, shoot pool, and play cards. He was a fantastic storyteller and had a great sense of humor.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Ruthie Mae Fryer, 5 kids: Patricia Ann Lyons (San Antonio, Texas), Cheryl Ann Nunez(San Antonio,Texas), Florence Y. Moore( Cibolo, Texas), Kathy L. Lee (San Antonio, Texas), Ricky Lawrence Fryer (Tumwater, Washington), siblings: Charles "Bubba" Fryer, Mamie Lott, and Algebre Adams.
10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his brother Wayman Fryer and son Victor Fryer.
