KENNETH GOODRUM Obituary

Kenneth “Kenny” Edward Goodrum, 68, was born on April 21, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Dorothy Ferguson and Billy Goodrum. Kenneth was a 1973 graduate from Withrow High School located in Cincinnati, OH. Kenneth served his country in the United States Army for 23 years; first working as a Medic and later in Military Intelligence; he retired from the Army in June 2000.

He furthered himself and his education as he received various bachelor’s and master’s degrees; the last of which was a Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Kenneth devoted the 2nd part of his career life to being of service to the San Antonio community as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). He found great joy in being of service to individuals who desired and needed the help and support to live a better quality of life!

Most importantly, Kenneth was a devoted Father and Grandfather. He created memories with his children and grandchild that will last a lifetime. You could find him on any given day playing chess with his Grandson Tristan or meeting his daughter for breakfast at First Watch. He deeply loved his family and always found ways to show and share that love; whether it was cooking a great meal, making the best cup of coffee, entertaining family and friends, or listening to jazz music while sharing in good conversation and laughter. All he was and will always be to the Goodrum Family is invaluable.

He is preceded in his death by his parents, his sister Delores Berry, his son Narada Goodrum and daughter-in-law Cynthia Goodrum. His memory will forever be cherished by his daughter, Bianca Goodrum, of San Antonio, TX; his Grandson, Tristan Goodrum, of Edinburg, TX; the mother of his children, Marilyn Goodrum, of San Antonio, TX; and his brother Greg Goodrum, of Cincinnati, OH along with a host of family members and friends who are extension of family.
