JULIUS COVINGTON Obituary

Julius Thomas Covington was the first born to the late Julius Thomas Brown, Sr and Bennie Charlotte Covington on October 1, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas.  He later was raised by the late Rev. Dr. Harrison S. Covington, Sr., to be the Christian man and father he became.  Julius was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 25, 2019.

He married the former Wanda Boone and in this union, parents one child.  He later married the late Dorotha Covington, and in this union, parents two children.

 He confessed his life to Christ at a young age. The Lord blessed Julius to live a full and active life that enabled him to travel with his wife and family to different countries as a military service member.  He was a graduate of St Peter Claver School, San Antonio, Texas.  Julius served both the United States Army and the United States Postal Service.  He was an active member of numerous Masonic Lodges and the Shriners.

Julius was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Dorotha and brother Sgt Zaron L. Covington.  He leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Mr. David Thomas Covington and Mr. Frank Covington of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Mr. Thomas McClure, Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren: Kayla Marie Covington, Julian Thomas Covington, Addison Elizabeth Covington and Aron Covington of Fayetteville, North Carolina; one great grandchild:  Bentley Lucas Covington of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sisters:  Mrs. Deloris C. Ogletree, Schertz, Texas; Mrs. Denise A. Covington-Curtis, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Mrs. Lenise A. Humble, San Antonio, Texas and two brothers and their spouses:  SGM (Ret.) Rev. Willie Earl Covington, Sr., and wife (Patricia) Schertz, Texas; Harrison S. Covington, Jr., and wife (Carolyn) Tallahassee, Florida; sister-in-law Mrs. Dinia Covington, Highland Park , New Jersey; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
