JAMES LOWERY Obituary

James Nathaniel Lowery was born December 22, 1957 to the parents of James and Emma M. (Ladson) Lowery in San Antonio Texas.  The Lowery family moved to Los Angeles California in 1958.  James began his early education at Saturn Elementary school.  He attended Louis Pasteur Junior High School and completed his high school education at Los Angeles High; class of 1976.  Shortly after graduating high school, James married his high school sweetheart Yetive Jacocks on September 1, 1977.   Later in marriage they had two sons; James Nathaniel Lowery III and Johnathan Tyree Lowery.  James was dedicated at working with his father at PPG Industries.  After twenty years he retired and become the owner of Tri-color Paint in Pasadena California.  Due to health reasons, in 2012, He relocated to San Antonio Texas.

 James fellowshipped with Mt Tabor Missionary Baptist church under the late Dr. EE Stafford of Los Angeles California.  He faithfully served his church as a trustee and a deacon for several years.  His greatest love was to ministry to his family and friends inside or outside the church walls.

James pastime enjoyment was bowling with the church league, sport fishing, traveling and golfing.   He also loved to watch his favorite sports with his family and friends.  He was loved by all and was known by many endearing nicknames, some of which were; Larry, Stinky, too-tall and Baby Jay. 

Deacon James N. Lowery leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother, Emma M. Lowery and his deceased father James Lowery, both of San Antonio Texas.  He also leaves His surviving spouse Yetive Lowery, two sons James of San Antonio Texas and Johnathan of Phoenix Arizona.   His sister Pamela Davis, brother Hamzil (Malika), Kevin, Mikhail (Basimah) Anaheim, Ricky, (Connie). Granddaughter SaRiah Lowery, one Godsister Jacquelyn P. Mitchell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. James’ Grandparents, Luther(Jimmie) Johnson and Godparents John (Ruby) Parker all proceeded him in death.
