IRMA WATSON Obituary

Born the fourth of eleven children to Mr. Oscar &^ Mrs. Exia B. Gardley on August 2, 1940, in Sweet Home, TX.

 Irma confessed to Christ at an early age at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church of Sweet Home, TX.

Irma graduated from Asberry High School Yoakum, T X in 1958. She moved to San Antonio, TX and later met and married the love of her life, Willie Watson. To this union one daughter was born Memorie D. Watson Huelett.

 In addition, after moving to San Antonio, she united with New Mount Pleasant where she served as an usher. She later moved to the westside of San Antonio, and she joined St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church where she remained as a faithful servant, serving as an usher and participant in Sunday School under the leadership of Rev. Joe Barber until her death. Also, faithfully serving as an usher and president with the Leslie Foster Community Echoes, and the City-Wide Ushers. As well as a faithful member of the City-Wide Mission of San Antonio, TX.

She was a self-taught chef who worked and cared for Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Ableman, who loved her cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, and pineapple cake. Irma loved her family, friends, and church. Her church loved her as Sis. Watson, her family loved her as Mama, Mammaw, Auntie, and Ms. Fine; her friends loved her as Ms. Irma with the beautiful smile. She was a vibrant, jovial lady of God, as well as a 20-year kidney recipient that loved to serve and lived a full life of traveling all over the world both international and domestic, always dressed to the nine and ready for any occasion.

 Surrounded by her "Special Care" family members, when Cod called her, she gracefully answered and peacefully joined her master on Wed, Nov. 17, 2021.

Irma is proceeded in death by her parents, Oscar &Exia B. Lenzy; 2 brothers, Raphael & James R. Lenzy; 4 sisters, Eva Gladys Mayes, Oscar Mae Young, Beverly Ann Lenzy Polk, Ruby Grace Lenzy.

Her transition will be honored by her daughter Memorie Huelett & loving son in love, Michael Huelett; two grandsons Michael D. Huelett Mathew S. Huelett (daughter in love, LaDonna); 4 great grandchildren Mathew Sebastian, Abbygail Renee, Grayson Carter, and Jaxon Miles Huelett; siblings: O. Wayne Lenzy, Lee Lenzy, Barbara Jean Ford, Rosalyn McClenon; Godchildren Alvinecia Polk, Darion Yelton (Jeremy), Chase Polk; her special care sidekicks, 1st cousins: Lillie "Plutee-Plute" Thomas, Maxine "Maxey" Tate, Hattie Mosely, Madeline Lenzy; special doctor friend, Dr. Lovelesh Manocha; Horticultural bestie, Linda Busby; Bible Scholar Friend Bro. Rogers Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
