Howard James Priestly, Sr. Known to his family as "Duck", "Huck" and "Huck Hound" was born in Seguin, Nov. 6, 1957 to the late Minister Henry Willie and Ora Lee Priestly. He entered eternal rest on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
Howard attended Seguin High and later transferred to Samuel Clemens High school in Schertz-Cibolo U.C. ISD, He later joined the United States Army and completed his duty to his country.
He grew up in Refuge Church and later moved to Antioch Church in San Marcos as a drummer under the pastoral leadership of the Late District Elder Willie Priestly. He served there faithfully until the death of his pastor. He returned to Greater Refuge Church and continued to serve until the Lord called him home to rest after a brief illness.
Brother Howard, along with Brother Charles, could be counted on to help with any maintenance projects needed at the church. The Pastor frequently called on them for painting, carpentry, and lawn service. Bro. Howard and Bro. Charles were inseparable until his illness.
He is preceded in death by parents Minister Henry Willie and Ora Lee Priestly, two brothers, Leander Priestly and Dist. Elder Willie Lee Priestly, one sister-in-love Joyce Priestly.
He leaves to cherish his memory three children, La'Tara"Nikki" Priestly, Howard Priestly, Jr. and La'Quisha (Marcus) Troy. Two sisters Josie Dolford (Marion) of Schertz and Erma "Jean" Galimore of Cibolo, one brother Charles Priestly, Sr. of Seguin, one sister-in-love, Estelle Priestly, three aunts, Dorothy Luckey of Houston, Geraldine Stewart and Thelma Luckey of San Antonio. Also, eleven grandchildren JordynJamaL Jy'Son, Abner, Jayden, Ja'Bari, Ania, Michael, Amarianta (Bella), Na'Zari, and Lyric and one great[1]grandchild, JaxtynGil.
