Harold C. Williams was born January 20, 1928 to John C. Williams and Cora Coleman Williams in San Antonio, Texas. He gave his life to Christ at a very early age and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where he served on the Steward Committee and as a member of the United Methodist Men.
He attended San Antonio public schools, graduating from Phillis Wheatley High School in 1947, and later attended St. Phillips College.
In 1948 he married Maxine Joyce Sheppard and to this union one daughter was born, Edith Marie Williams.
Dad was a great cook and he worked at Havelas Restaurant in Pleasanton, Texas. He began his career with the United States Air Force in 1951 at Lackland Air Force Base. In 1956 he married Lillie Myrtle Bland (deceased). To this union three children were born, Harold C. Williams Jr. (deceased), Letticia Dell Williams and Karen Denise Williams.
While in the Air Force his determination and hard work enabled him to achieve the rank of Chief Master Sergeant, a rank of which he was very proud. He was stationed in various locations throughout the U.S and abroad and his family traveled with him. Dad did not stop there, after retiring from the military he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service until he finally decided to retire in the late 80’s to do some fishing and traveling with his wife Lillie Myrtle. She was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and he never missed a Convention. He enjoyed those travels and fun times as well. When his daughters traveled, he always babysat his grand doggies, and enjoyed the experience of extra exercise and commanding them around, even though they never listened.
He had an eye for fashion and was always impeccably dressed when he went to church, on the town or out with his family. Dad enjoyed fishing, football, baseball, and the San Antonio Spurs and especially watching his granddaughter Jordyn participate in her University of North Texas, Volley Ball Competitions. He loved being around his family and the attention they gave him.
He was preceded in death by his parents John C. Williams and Cora Coleman Walker, his only son Harold C. Williams Jr., his wife Lillie Myrtle as well as his one brother John C. Williams Jr. (Maggie) and sister, Octavia Ellison (Samuel). He leaves three daughters and his only grandchild, Jordyn Williams McKinney, as well as his sister, Laura Jewel Walker Bradley, to cherish the memories and experiences of their life and times together. He will be missed by a host of other family members and friends as well. His three sidekicks, Taylor Chase, Princess and Tito will miss him too for when he sat down to eat somehow they seemed to enjoy the same meal as he did. (Tish & Karen's pets)
