GLADYS BRAZIL

Gladys Brazil (Aunt Pumpkin) was the last of thirteen children born to the late Lonnie Ollison and the late Gladys Ollison in Gonzales, Texas. Her mother Gladys Ollison was a Clark before marriage. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gonzales, Texas. She was a member of Evans Chapel in Gonzales, Texas.

Gladys was married to John Brazil. Gladys and John have been married for over twenty years. John and Gladys met at church. John was impressed with Gladys singing and playing the piano. Their courtship took off like a fire cracker.

Gladys was a lifelong learner. She attended school in Gonzales, Texas and was a musician from her heart. Gladys learned to play the piano by ear. She was self-taught. Gladys worked as a care take for the elderly and did domestic work and dedicated her life to the LORD. Gladys was an amazing woman and the comedian of the family. She enjoyed life and loved to make people laugh.

Gladys leaves to mourn her husband, John Brazil and cherished memories of her deceased brothers and sisters. Gladys is the last generation of the Ollison family.  Today Gladys has a host of cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews in San Antonio, Houston, as well as in Chicago. Gladys has an aunt living at age 100 “Aunt Carolyn” Gladys mother’s sister whom live in San Antonio, Texas.
