When the sun rose in Karnes City, Texas on January 15, 1950, it brought with it a new day and a new life. Frank L. Rogers was born to Anderson Rogers Jr. and Pearlie B. Rogers. On Saturday, October 10, 2020, Frank departed his earthly home and moved to his Heavenly home.
Frank's early childhood was spent in Fulshear, Texas and attended public school in Simonton, Texas. He later moved to Karnes City, Texas and attended Karnes City public schools. Frank was a kind, gentle person always willing to help someone or lend a helping hand. He enjoyed barbequing where he won numerous trophies for his prized BBQ. He was also a very good cook. He often cooked at home and other large social events, including church socials, fundraisers, and fish fry's for friends and relatives. Frank worked at various occupations but for most of his life he was a truck driver. He worked for Jonas Trucking for many years and ended his career with Smart Materials Trucking Company.
Frank loved football. He played football in school and he enjoyed watching his sons and his grandson play. He was also a very big fan of the Houston Texans. He loved watching old western movies. Frank also loved to play dominoes. He would often meet with friends and play for hours. But his favorite past time was riding his motorcycle. He was a proud and long time member and official of the Soul Hawks Motorcycle Club. He loved attending the rallies and travelling across the country with them.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Anderson, Jr. & Pearlie B. Rogers; his sisters: Elnora Rogers, Annie Pearl Rogers; his brother: James L. Rogers, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his children: Frank L. Rogers, Jr., Jerry L. Rogers, Jeanil L. Rogers, Latwain D. Rogers, La'Kisha Tate (Stephenson); his sisters: Loretta Rogers-Parker, Rose Mary Kelley; his brothers: Tommy L Ervin, Ken Rogers, Charles R. Rogers (Alice), Willie T. Rogers; stepdaughters: Keshia Bell (Quincy) Rosalyn Gibson (J orm ) Stacey Dickerson, La'Cheryle Redmon; stepson: Ervin Curry; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
