Felicia Yvette Netherly was born on April 16, 1970, to Elroy Netherly and Ruth Helen Bryant Netherly in San Antonio, Texas. She accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at New Light Baptist Church. She attended P.F. Stewart Elementary and Jeff Davis Middle School before graduating from Highlands High School on June 1, 1988. Felicia was big on education and had the philosophy of “never stop learning”. She received 2 Associates degrees from St. Philip’s College: Sociology and Liberal Arts, respectively; a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1996 from Our Lady of The Lake University; 2 Master’s degrees from Webster University: MA in Human Resources Development and Public Administration in 1998 and MA in Management and Leadership in 2012. She also obtained a Texas Educator Certificate in 2004.
She enjoyed working in the Human Resources industry and had over 20 years of experience in training & development, recruiting and implementing policies & procedures. She also had her own consulting business where she partnered with several companies and organizations (which included the Fiesta San Antonio Commission) throughout Texas to hire talented individuals.
Felicia enjoyed spending time with family & friends which included attending plays, concerts, trying new restaurants, and loved taking pictures of all of these things. She was affectionately known as “The Social Butterfly” and often posted about all of her adventures on Facebook, along with her “Feliciaisms” and healthy groups that she created to encourage family and friends to exercise and eat healthy. She was always willing to help anyone when she could, whether it was assisting them in finding a job, praying for them, supporting them in achievements and being a shoulder to cry on. She would always offer an encouraging word and had a strong faith in God.
