EVA DAWSON Obituary

Eva Cecile Payne Dawson was born on March 6, 1945, to Ethel Sapp Payne and Milton Payne, Jr. in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She was a graduate of St. Mathews High School.

Eva went on to further her education as she attended New Careers Guidance Center. Upon completion of her Office Technology, she began her career with the San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) where she was employed for 30 plus years.

Eva was married to Robert C. Dawson for over 45 years (widowed 2016).

Eva had a relationship with the Lord throughout her life and knew that without Him she could do nothing and without him she would fail. For the last 50 plus years, she served faithfully at the Dominion COGI C formerly known as Grace Memorial COGI C and as Andersons Temple COGIC. She enjoyed serving on many auxiliaries, committees and boards on the local and district level. The Family Pew, which is in her church, serves as a testament to her faith in God and as an ambassador for Christ. Also, as a reminder - she didn't send her family to church: she brought them to church.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Ethel Sapp Payne and Milton Payne, Jr.; her son, Jack Adams; and her brother, Burlington Payne.

Eva leaves to cherish her three beloved daughters: Cecilia Lovelady (Percival), Chris Yvette Mosely (Johnny), and La Trece Francois (Earl); also, two god-children: TyShun Peoples (Dimitra) and Connie Coleman. Blessed be the ties that bind - her grandchildren, Gencie Leonard (Michelle), Raven Mosely, and Armand Francois; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Brycen. Eva's memories will live on through her siblings' hearts - Earleather Payne, Ora Mae Brown, Cora Lucien and Edward Payne, Sr.; and a host of family and friends.
