Elmo Durst was born in Hayes County to Ural and Beatrice Durst November 24, 1945. He went to school in San Marcos and lived all his adult years in San Antonio, Texas. In September 1969 he married Jerrett Allen. Elmo worked and retired from the City of San Antonio for over 20 plus years. From the age of 15 years old, he was a professional bass guitar player. He played with the likes of many great and popular blues and jazz artists of his time.
Elmo is proceeded in death by his parents Ural Sherman Sr. and Beatrice Durst, and brother Ural Sherman Durst Jr.
Elmo is survived by his wife Jerrett Ann Durst, his children John Davis Christmas Durst (Houston, TX.), Denise Lucky (San Antonio, TX.) and Ra’Sheedah Richardson (College Station, TX.)
His grandchildren; Natasha Christmas, Marlon and Richard Lucky, Tyzie and Shycon Gonzales.
