EDWARD POWELL Obituary

Edward Al Powell passed from his Earthly body on Sunday, August 15, 2021  surrounded by his wife and family.

Edward was the son of Randell Powell and Rosemary Waller born in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Edward was united in Holy Matrimony to Shirley Nelson Powell who preceded him in death, within that union 3 children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Anthony Tyrone Powell, two daughters, Evelyn Mechelle Powell and Stephanie Nicole Powell-Nichols; 9 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren. Later in his journey, he married his surviving spouse Bonita Ingram Powell. Also cherishing Ed’s memories are nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.

Ed (aka Sugarman) spent his formative years in Winnfield Louisiana where he graduated from Pinecrest High School. Later attending Southern University (ultimately completing his education receiving his associate degree from St. Philip's College). He joined the United States Army and retired after 21 years of dedicated service. He continued with a career in Civil Service for another 20 years as Training Manager at Lackland/Kelly Air Force Base, Texas. As if that was not enough, his passion for music inspired his DJ abilities and created (TOP) entertaining across states/countries. His smile was bright and always welcoming, meaning he never met a stranger along his journey.

Ed loved his life and lived it to the fullest.  He filled much of his time engaged in many joyful hobbies and had a passion for motorcycles. He loved his family and enjoyed many dear friendships. And we gather today to celebrate his full and blessed life.
