Lorece P. Williams passed peacefully from this life the afternoon on June 1, 2023 after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last day of her life.
Lorece & her Husband Nathan Williams are survived by two children, Nick Williams and Natalie Fuller; five grandchildren: Krystal Fuller, Tanicka Mayberry (deceased), Tai Paschall, Haki Williams, Devitra Williams: eight great grandchildren: Nathan Williams, Mya Williams, Sha’Myiah Fuller, Shayla Fuller, Kaleb Paschall, Stori Paschall, Jay Williams and Joy Williams. In addition, a very large amount of nieces and nephews.
Lorece was also the oldest child of six children born in Luling, Texas. Their names are Ora McKinney (deceased), Minnie Bass (deceased), James Corley, Ruth Williams, and Gloria Corley.
Lorece was a Professor of Social Work and taught at Our Lady of the Lake University for 26 years. To know her is to love her. She was smart, witty, had an engaging smile, and was a fiercely independent woman. She was never one to brag about her accomplishments even though she achieved a great deal both personally and professionally. It was not until her final days that she began to appreciate and accept that she indeed was an inspiration to her many friends and family who loved her dearly. It’s this love that make saying goodbye for now, that much harder for all of us. We love you, Dr. Lorece P. Williams
