DOROTHY THOMAS

 Dorothy Carter Thomas (Dee) was born June 9, 1929. Her birth name was Dorothy Louis Carter. Dorothy was born in Boston, V.A. and that she was the only child born to her parents. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Carter and father, Walter Frye.

She met Howard J. Shorter when she was 30 years old and later had her son, Howard O. Shorter.

She was hard-working and worked for many companies such as Kodak, Champion, Bird’s Eye and other various jobs. Later she retired in 1988 to be with her family in San Antonio, Texas, where her son Howard Shorter resides.

Down the years, she met Theodore Thomas (a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars) and married him on December 14, 2003. He later passed on October 7, 2010.

Dee’s home going has left a void that will not easily be filled. She leaves behind son, Howard Shorter (wife Evelyn); sister, Bonnie Johnson and brother, Anthony Frye; 2 grandsons: Aaron Willridge and Stephan Shorter (wife Becca); 1 great-granddaughter, Ellie Shorter and 1 great grandson, Micah Shorter, along with a host of relatives and friends.

Dee was a mother, sister, grandmother and great- grandmother. She will be loved and highly missed.
