DOROTHY MARIE CORLEY-WENDORF

Dorothy Marie Corley-Wendorf of San Antonio Texas, went to be with the Lord, September 6, 2021 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.

As a young girl, Dorothy joined St. Paul Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Sherman Bedford. She served as an usher, choir member, Bible School Teacher and Women’s Annual Day Leader. She served at St. Paul Baptist Church faithfully until her death.

She was born May 6, 1965 to John Corley and Ernest Mae Corley (adopted-parents), and Joyce Marie Miles (biological parent).

She graduated from Memorial High School in May 1983. Dorothy received her undergraduate education in Liberal Studies at Our Lady of the Lake University. She later returned to obtain a master’s degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she became a first-grade teacher at Sendero Christian Academy, where she was able to educate young people while also sharing the love of God. In 2012, she received a second master’s degree in Education Administration at which time she became a Principal at Sendero Academy. For four years, Dorothy served as the middle school principal at George Gervin Academy. She later became the District Instructional Coach at George Gervin Academy where she supported teachers and students. In 2019, Dorothy received the Excellence in Education Award presented by Tabernacle Generation Ministries.

She is preceded in death by her father John Corley, and grand parents Glen and Dorothy Bell. She is survived by her husband Mario Wendorf, her mother, Ernest Mae Corley, three step-sons and two step-grandchildren. Also surviving are her biological mother, two sisters, one brother, three aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins
