Denise Eileen Lomax-Wauls (AKA Nene) was born on November 21, 1953 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, to the union of Charles Louis Malvester Wauls and Margaret Louise Williams. Denise accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church in Kenwood.
She attended Mark Twain Junior High, graduated Thomas Edison High School in 1971. She continued her studies at the University of the Incarnate Word.
We all know her greatest gift in life was her need to help anyone and everyone she came into contact with.
Denise was married twice. A very short union to Henry Campbell, then in 1978, married Gilbert F. Lomax, Jr. bearing two eldest children: Destiny Delena Lomax and Donji Lomax. Later in life, after divorce, she conceived her third child, Dijon Marcel Wauls. In Kenwood, she raised and reared a neighborhood of children.
For many years, she worked on Ft. Sam Army Base in the hospitality field. 43 years of dedicated service: first, at the Guest House and ending her career at BAMC Fisher House with her beloved military families.
On March 18, 2021, the Lord called on his beloved angel home.
