Claude Hinton was born July 27,1948, along with a twin brother, Lloyd Hinton. He was one of six children born to the late Floyd and Myrtle Hinton of Houston, Texas.
Claude attended E.E. Worthing High School in Houston and after graduating from high school, he enrolled in Texas Southern University, to further his education. He left college later to serve his country in the United States Air Force.
While stationed in San Antonio, he met and married Bonita Lavern Patterson. To this union one daughter was born Tina Hinton.
After extensive travel ,while in the Air Force, overseas ,he completed his tour of duty in the military and returned to San Antonio to live with his family.
He continued his work, at Kelly Air Force Base, until it closed. Later he was employed by the United States Postal Service and his last place of employment was H.E.B. Distribution Center. He was employed there until his health began to fail.
Claude was a former member of Evangelist Chapel A.M.E. Church Houston, Texas as a young child. Later, he became affiliated with the Jehovah Witnesses.
Claude was a loving, sweet, and quiet person. Whatever he could do to help, he was always willing to do his part. His sudden passing has left a void in our lives that cannot be filled.
Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Mr.& Mrs. Floyd Hinton and his oldest brother, Carl Hinton.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife for almost fifty years, Bonita Hinton , affectionately called “Vern”. Daughter, Tina Hinton, Three grandchildren, Michael Burgess, Derai l Kelly and Kiara Lewis. Two brothers, Everett Hinton and Lloyd Hinton of (Houston) Three sisters Carolyn Hinton McGruder(Harvey) of Katy, Texas, Darnell Hinton Harris(Freddie) of Pearland, Texas and Barbara Johnson, Houston, Texas. Three brother-in laws, Freddie Patterson,(Maxine) Harold Patterson,(Patsy ) San Antonio ,Texas and Larry Hines, (Linda) Denver ,Colorado , Imani Hines(Niece) ,An Aunt, Mamie Lawson ,an Uncle Jimmy Garnett and a special cousin, Wilma Brown of San Antonio, Texas. Along with many other nieces, nephews , relatives and friends.
