Christopher Wayne Herzing, resident of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the age of 46. Christopher was born February 26, 1975, in Ysleta, Texas to Robert Herzing and Beverly Stewart Herzing. After graduating in 1993 from Port Isabel High School, Christopher enlisted in the United States Army where he served from 1993-2000. Christopher moved back to San Antonio and started his own construction company and enrolled in college classes. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas San Antonio in 2015. Later after earning his degree, Christopher started working for Ampsafe where he worked his way up to Executive Vice President of the company.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Beverly Herzing of Floresville; his children, Colton Herzing of Fort Carson and Courtney Herzing-Medina and husband Juan Medina of Langley AFB; granddaughter, Penelope Medina; brother, Clay Herzing and wife Lauren Herzing of San Antonio; and a host of family and friends.
Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Robert Herzing.
Funeral services will be held July 2, 2021 with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Serving as pallbearers are Chris’ brother Clay Herzing, son Colton Herzing, Ryan Kemmy, Manuel Ortiz, Ruben Corvalan, Adam Cavazos.
