Charlie Loud, Jr. was born January 27, 1934 to Charlie M. Loud, Sr. and Anna Scott Loud in Fayette County on Buckner Creek. He was the eighth of 11 children born to this union. His parents and nine siblings (Milton, Alton, David, Daniel, Frank, Anna Mae, Myrtle, Dennis, Louise, also, his beloved grandson Cedric J. Alexander) preceded him in death. He received Christ at an early age becoming a member of New Union Baptist Church. He later joined Greater Ball Tabernacle A.M.E. Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Napoleon Williams, where he served as a faithful Trustee, Sons of Allen, and member of the Men’s Choir.
Charlie Loud, Jr. attended high school in Flatonia, TX, then was drafted into the US Army on September 13, 1956, serving as a supply handler/stock clerk. He received a “Good Conduct Medal” and completed his service in the US Army November 13, 1957. He returned to Flatonia, TX, where he married his high school sweetheart Rosetta Godley (“Rose” would become his lasting affectionate name for his wife) on May 4, 1958. He and Rosetta moved to San Antonio, TX and resided at 1926 E. Crockett Street on the eastside.
Charlie Loud, Jr. and Rose had 5 beautiful children, Terry, Donald, Charlie III, Tyrone, and Phyllis. Rosetta was a stay-at-home mom, for the most of their union, while Charlie worked as a molder for Texaloy Foundry Company for 35+years, retiring in 1994.
Charlie Loud, Jr. moved his family in 1973 to a new home located at 4147 Scarlet Oak Dr. SATX, where he has resided for 45 plus, years. He was known for being very skillful with his hands. He could build just about anything you could imagine, without having to use any measuring tools. Just by the calculation in his head and scanning over the item with his eyes, he would complete his task with perfection. He also took several college courses to obtain his certification in Tailoring.
Charlie Loud, Jr. loved his wife “Rose” and children but, he loved his grandchildren even more. Charlie checked in to the Stone Oak Senior Care Center on March 26, 2020 and checked out on December 6, 2020, taking flight to his eternal resting place with our Heavenly Father.
Honoring his legacy he leaves the following family members to cherish his memory: his beloved wife of 62+ years Rosetta “Puddin” Loud of SATX, Terry (James) Alexander of Smithville, TX, Donald (Carmen) Loud, Charles (Kathy) Loud, Tyrone (Katrina) Loud, Phyllis (Roderick) Smith, sister Mable Johnson, sister-in-law's Sewilla Felder, Doris Godley, brother-in-law Leroy Williams, grandchildren Donald (Sarah) Loud, II , Charlie (Britney) Loud, IV, Breauna (Robert) Duhart, Tyrone Loud, II, Kristin Loud, Bryce Eaton, Jonathon Loud, Raven Smith, Quincy Loud, Rashard Smith, and Riyah Smith, eight (8) great-grandchildren, best friend Harold (Joyce) Mills all of SATX, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
