Charles Wayne Williams known to family & friends as “Doodie”, the baby boy of James & Clair Williams, born September 4th, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas and was called home in the morning of November 20th, 2022.
After graduating from Phillis Wheatley High School, he obtained his Associate degree from St. Phillips college and advanced on to Texas Southern University playing baseball when he was drafted to the United States Army July 1967. Returning home in the 70’s he continued his education at St. Mary’s University when he reconnected with his love & passion for music and friends the group Justifiers, Touch of Silk and now known as the Flamingos (currently performing in Las Vegas).
He is preceded in death by his parents James & Clair Williams, sisters Betty Ashley (Tit), Lillie WMS-Matthews (Ree Dee). He is survived by siblings Jimmie (Bootsie) Pearson, Fannie Cato (James), and Robert Williams (Mano), his children Terri, Tonja, Bridget (Stuart), Tara (Curtis), and Dy’Von, grandchildren Andre, Ja’Corey, Alexander and Sydney, great grandson Mayel, and host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
