Brenda Darlene Armstrong, affectionately known as Darlene, 64, passed away March 26, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center surrounded by family.
Brenda was born July 10, 1959, in Weimar, Tx to John and Elizabeth Johnson. Brenda enjoyed shopping for others mostly, posting her grandkids on Facebook, Mexican food and the brand Pink.
She attended P.F. Stewart and Gates Elementary. As the youngest of three siblings all a year apart as well as what they would call a “military brat” her middle school years were spent at different schools as the family moved quite a bit during that time. She attended St. Gerard high school where she graduated in 1977 with her high school diploma.
Brenda always had a big heart and enjoyed taking care of other people. She enrolled in the nursing program at St. Phillips College where she graduated as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. As a LVN she enjoyed taking care of her patients and thrived in her career. Brenda worked at the VA and nursing home throughout her nursing career where she retired in 2020.
She met and fell in love with Kirl (Chili) Williams and through this relationship her only child, a son Kristopher Williams was born August 24, 1991. Kristopher was the joy of her life.
Brenda was raised in the church and believed highly in God and put him first in every aspect of her life. She was a daughter, sister, mother, niece, aunt, cousin, granddaughter, and friend.
Brenda is survived by her son Kristopher Williams, daughter-in-law Ahkeelah Williams, sister Beverly Garcia, dad John Johnson, grandchildren Eli, Zara and Cyris Williams, nieces Jennifer Segarra and Jessica Brinkley, nephew James (A.J.) Garcia, and a host of great nieces, nephews, and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth Johnson and brother Jon Johnson.
Brenda will forever be remembered for her beauty inside and out, giving nature, love of animals (especially dogs), meaning what I say fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met and above all she will be known for the love she had for those she loved and held dear to her heart.
