On December 15,1942, Betty Jean Brooks born to A.C Wilson Sr. and Lily Whiten in Vernon, Texas.
She was called home to the Lord and received her heavenly wings on February 6, 2024.
She worked as an Instrument Technician in Labor and Delivery in Odessa, Texas most of her career. She moved to San Antonio, Tx. in 2003 and became a Medication Aide at local nursing home until she took early retirement.
Everyone that knew our mother knows she loved and lived for the Lord. She was baptized in Jesus' name and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost at the age of 21 years old. She was an Evangelist for many years and became Elder Betty Brooks since she has become a member of Rose of Sharon Ministries. It took 81 years to finish her assignment on earth and all her children know she couldn’t wait to see Jesus. I am sure she was waving bye-bye as she left her carnal body to be with Jesus her savior.
She was a loving mother and friend. She strived to be an example of how we should treat and love one another. My mother loved reading the Bible and any books about the Bible that would help her walk with Jesus. She would get on the phone and talk about Jesus all the time to family and friends. This truly brought her joy and happiness.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, her two sisters Bertha Lewis Arnwine and Linda Kay Bagley, two brothers Robert Wilson and Sylvester Lee Williams, three children Lelan Marrs, Vincent Marrs and Fredrick Marrs. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Cynthia Wade (David), son, Kenneth Marrs Jr. (Hazel), son, Eric Marrs (Helia) and daughter, Yalonda Robinson. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren and host of nieces and nephews.
