BELINDA PIGG Obituary

Belinda Gail Pigg was born on June 28, 1954 on Ft. Benning, MartinArmy Community Hospital (MACH) - Columbus, Georgia to Harry L. Grant Sr. and Eugenie Grant (Matthews). She was the 5th of 8 children. As a young girl Belinda accepted Christ at an early age. She attended and was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia presided over by the Late Reverend Martin Luther King Sr. and the Late Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. The faith she discovered at this age was continually applied throughout her life to deal with and overcome many difficult situations.

Belinda attended E.C. Clement Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School in Atlanta Georgia. After high school, she enlisted in United States Air Force in January 1974. During her time in the Air Force, while enrolled in a Still Photography Course, she met her future loving husband Doyle G. Pigg who was enrolled in a Motion Picture Photographic Course. The two were married shortly thereafter. Doyle and
Belinda became the proud parents of three wonderful children shortly after their union, Ericka, Calandra and Doyle Jr. As a member of the United States Air Force, Doyle Sr., carried his family all over the world to many exciting adventures. During this same time, Belinda became a member of the United States Civil Service workforce. First, she worked her way through numerous job titles, beginning in the Administrative Support
career path, which lead to a very successful career in Human Resources and finally all of her many skills and talents culminated in a promotion to Program Manager. This allowed her to be in a unique position to work with senior managers to optimize future personnel requirements for many years into the future. In 2012, Belinda retired from Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.

Belinda was generous and warm hearted. Her daily operating philosophy was "she never met a stranger", because she treated each person who crossed her path as a friend. Belinda loved to encourage others and was always ready to listen and provide information to others who asked and those who didn't necessarily ask. She was well known for her strong, and sometimes mildly aggressive and spirited assistance. This was chiefly
born out of the potential she saw in others to achieve the very they could be. best Belinda had the gift of hospitality. She loved to cook, bake and entertain family and friends.

Belinda went horne to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 24, 2018. She leaves a husband, Doyle G. Pigg, Sr., of 43 years, her daughters, Ericka L. Moore (Calvin) and Calandra D. Antonelli (Toney) and her son, Doyle G. Pigg Jr. (Kimberly) and nine grandchildren, Gabriela, Eliana, Gabriel, Mancini, Cheyenne, Chloe, Jerrain, Malina and Josephine. Belinda leaves her brothers and sisters, Jimmie Grant, Ronald and Judy Grant,
Napoleon and Cheryl Matthews and Dimitra and Arthur Bowman. Belinda was preceded in death by Eugenie Grant Matthews (mother), Harry L Grant Sr. (father), Harry L Grant Jr. (brother), Ola Mae Grant Long (sister) and Mona Lisa Grant (sister).
