Obituary

Barbara Jean Inman was born to Herbert Eugene, Sr. and Willia Adams Inman in Seguin, Texas on December 12, 1940. She was the third of seven children blessed to their union.

At an early age, Barbara united with Capote Baptist Church, Seguin, the Church and Community of her ancestors, thus, began her lifelong devotion to the Lord. At Capote Baptist Church, Barbara participated in the choir, Sunday School and Bible training. Later, Barbara united with New Hope Baptist Church of Seguin, where she served during her teenage years. After high school, she moved to San Antonio, Texas where she united with Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G.C. Coleman and later Rev. Ruben Archield. Barbara served at Friendship Baptist Church for 45 years until her religious quest led her to join Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert L. Jemerson, Sr. where she actively continued her service for the Lord.

Barbara attended public school in Seguin, Texas. She graduated from Ball High School in 1959. She studied nursing and worked in the health profession for several years. Later she attended Our Lady of the Lake University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Education. She taught kindergarten in the San Antonio Independent School District for 24 years before retiring.

Barbara was happily married to the love of her life, Abie Grady, Jr. for 58 years until his death in 2020. They were the parents of three children; Bridget Gail, Rodney, and (Rhonda Sue who preceded them in death). Barbara was an adored daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece and friend. She touched many lives with her kindness.

On Monday, February 8, 2021 at 7:37 pm, Barbara Jean Inman Grady departed this life to be with the Lord hearing “Well done thy good and faithful servant”. Those awaiting her Heavenly arrival are her husband Abie, daughter Rhonda Sue, and parents Willa and Herbert Eugene Inman, Sr.

Barbara leaves to lovingly cherish her memory her Daughter; Bridget Clemons (Walter), Son; Rodney (Sylvia); Granddaughters; Ashley Lee (Marvin), Chanel Lenzy (Andrew) and Breannah Ravizee. Grandsons; Brandon Robinson, Joshua, Walter III and Antoine. Five great grandchildren; Markayla, Kayden, Karter, Nia and Jovani. Siblings; Robert Inman (Betty) of Fort Worth, TX, Helen Embry (Henry) of San Antonio, TX, Lillian Inman Collins of New Braunfels, TX, Herbert Inman Jr. (Gwen) of Conroe, TX, Walter Inman (Bridget) of Stafford, TX and Warren Inman (Dahlia) of San Antonio, TX. Brother-in-law; Elijah Grady; Uncle; George Harris, adored by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends whom she truly loved.
