Obituary

Allaree Harvey Beverly was born on May 22, 1932, in Tuskegee, Alabama to the late Frank Harris and Savannah Harvey. Allaree departed this life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the blessed age of 89. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee, Alabama.

Allaree later joined her sister Ida in San Antonio, Texas, where she met and fell in love with the love of her life of 73 years, James Beverly. They were joined in holy matrimony, and to this union 3 children were born, Charles, Gregory and Cheryl.

Allaree was a faithful member of the New Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. Carlton Allen for many years. She later moved her membership to Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Emmett W. Smith, where she continued to serve under the leadership of Rev. Michael R. Richardson. She was a faithful member of Usher Board #2, and later became a greeter when her health began to fail.

Allaree had a kind and giving soul. She always stood ready to brighten someone else’s day such as preparing Holiday meals for delivery to her friends and family who were sick and shut in. She exhibited lots of wisdom and always encouraged others to “just trust God.” She truly enjoyed praising God at every opportunity, as well as spending quality time with her family. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved and lived life to the fullest.

Allaree enjoyed being of assistance to others and she truly enjoyed her tenure at Bexar County Hospital where she was employed for many years as an Intake Coordinator in the Emergency Room. She was later employed by the State of Texas, and retired from the State Hospital, where she worked as a Patient Care Coordinator, and ensured a safe environment was always maintained for the residents and staff.

Allaree was preceded in death by her parents, Savannah Harvey and Frank Harris; sisters, Jesse Mae, Kate, Rosalee, Malvolia, Mattie Ree (twin sister) and Evelyn; brothers, Fred, Nathaniel, Samuel, Roscoe, Finley, Raymond and Tom. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, James A. Beverly; sisters, Ida Cleckley (Staunton, VA) and Gwendolyn Johnson (Tuskegee, AL); children, Charles Beverly (Bossier City, LA), Gregory Beverly (San Antonio, TX), Cheryl Beverly-Ibana (Oscar) (San Antonio, TX); grandchildren Latrice Bouraima (Lati), (Round Rock, TX); Tiffany Beverly (San Antonio, TX), Christopher Beverly (Shamel) (Shreveport, LA); Courtney Beverly (Carbondale, IL); great grandchildren, Noelle Bouraima (Round Rock, TX), Jeremiah Bouraima (Round Rock, TX), and a host of relatives and friends.
