ANGIE SHAW Obituary

It is with deep sadness that our family share the news of Angie Rigby Shaw’s sudden passing on January 8, 2021.  She was born to Jean Chase Rigby on June 29, 1960.   She lived in Texas, Arkansas, Florida, Arizona and California.  Although her home was in Texas, her heart was in California where she worked in Los Angeles for several years and dreamed of returning one day.

She attended South San Antonio High School and later attended San Antonio College. She worked in several industries including food service, nursing and convalescent homes, hospitality and education. She worked for Career Point College for many years where she fell in love with admissions and recruitment work and truly enjoyed helping students with their career paths. She was committed to student success and continued to help students until they graduated.  She wanted students to succeed and was known to even pick up students from their homes if they did not have transportation.  She was a true fashionista and loved beautiful, shiny patent leather pumps and colorful outfits.  In her earlier years she was a graceful dancer, great singer, loved concerts and traveling.  She was artistic and very proficient with French braiding and created many hair braiding designs for family, neighborhood kids and friends.

Her favorite past time was cooking and she had many secret recipes especially for beef stew, ribs and thanksgiving stuffing (dressing) which she cherished since it was our grandmother’s recipe and she mastered it from years of watching her and asking lots of questions.

She leaves behind her mother, Jean Rigby, son, Rudolph Rogers and 5 grandkids, Daunte Rogers, Andre Rogers, Joshua Rogers, Trinity Rogers and Mallerie Rogers.  Siblings, Phyllis Haywood-Grayson, Victoria Narkewicz(Michael), Mary Iglehart and Phillip Rigby (Frances). Nieces, Ronda Haywood, Stephanie Haywood, Jennifer Iglehart and Amber Iglehart. Great niece, Joss Thompson and a hosts of cousins, aunts, uncles, and many loving friends.

Due to the coronavirus, we are unable to hold a religious service and visitation at this time. We want to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time of spiritual healing and remembrances. The family will hold a celebration of life event in the late Spring or early Summer 2021.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we love you still,

In our hearts you hold a place,

That no one could ever fill.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you,

The day God took you home.
