AMANI MOSLEY Obituary

Amani Blair Mosley was born in Miami, Florida, on December 3, 1981 to Randy and Renee Aranha Mosley. Amani grew up in a warm and loving family which included two grandmothers, two grandfathers, one great grandmother, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. It's very rare that one has the joy of knowing their great grandparents but Amani was so privileged to not only know his grandparents Barbara Anders (James), Arnold Aranha (Jacqueline), Willie and Lillie "Peggy" Mosley but he knew and loved his great grandmothers Thelma J Aranha and Altamease James and great great grandmother Henrietta "Baby" Johnson. Four generations of Love.

Amani attended Gloria Floyd and R.R. Moton Elementary Schools, Southwood Middle School and graduated in the class of 2000 of Miami Killian Senior High School. At Killian he played saxophone in the marching and concert bands. During his junior high years he attended one summer of the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's famed Band Camp.

In the Richmond Heights community he was a Cub Scout at Martin Memorial and later joined the Sigma Beta Club under the leadership of Wilkes Kemp. He spent endless hours at Richmond Heights Park where his father Coach Moe, coached little league football. Amani was always friendly and well-liked which led to many friendships. He had the kind of personality that people were drawn to because they could feel his appreciation of their friendship. Many of his father's players have expressed their love and appreciation of Amani for sharing his dad with them. He has left and enduring mark on many of the players.

The church was an important part of Amani's development. He was confirmed at Christ Episcopal Church and served for many years on the altar as an acolyte. He was also a member of the Episcopal Youth Council (EYC). Amani was currently attending Grace Community Church where he loved the preaching and teachings of Pastor Tim Conway. Amani was loved by all at Grace and he intended to make Grace Community Church his home church.

Amani was well traveled, thanks to his loving great grandmother, Thelma Aranha, who took him on all her Bus trips around the country. He was her first "great grand" and she enjoyed every day they spent together.

Upon graduating from high school, Amani attended Bethune Cookman College, Miami Dade College and Florida A & M University. It was at FAMU that he met the love of his life, LaVondra Lynnice Holmes and on April 3, 2010 they were joined in Holy Matrimony at Christ Episcopal Church in Miami, Florida.

Amani and LaVondra made their home in San Antonio, Texas and on January 20, 2014 their first child, Autumn Lillie Mosley was born. Autumn was daddy's little girl. On June 23, 2018, a son, Clayton Allan Blair Mosley was born, his pride and joy, the Remix.

Following in the tradition of the "Mosley Men", Amani loved to cook. He was an exceptional baker and fancied himself a grills man and often cooked for many family gatherings.

Amani's love for people led him to the Customer Service Industry, working many years for Macys, Caremark and his last employment with Southwest Airlines.

This loving son, husband, father, brother, grandson and faithful friend made his transition on January 12, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, LaVondra; daughter Autumn Lillie, son Clayton Allan Blair,  Mother, Renee Mosley and father, Randy Mosley; sister, Kiara Tulani Mosley and Summer Mosley, brother, Nyjal Mosley, grandmother; Barbara Anders (James) and Jacqueline Aranha, Father and Mother-in-law Sharod & Michelle Holmes; sister-in-law Rione Davison (Brandon); brothers-in-law, Sharod and Jharod Holmes and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends...
