On May 11, 1929 Zelma Anderson Burleson was born to Dewitt and Frances Anderson in Bartlett, Texas.
During her younger years, she attended school in the Bartlett area. She later met and married Lawrence Burleson in 1952. To this union, six children were born.
She was a housewife and loving mother to all her children, nieces, and nephews. As the children grew older, she took a job outside the home and worked or S.A.I.S.D. She was also a loving caregiver to her siblings and others.
Zelma gave her lie to Christ and joined Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Gillespie. She later joined St. Peters Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Hugh Jones. She worked to support her church until her health started to decline.
Zelma loved fishing, cooking, traveling, serving the Lord.
On March 22, 2019, God took her hand and whispered in her ear that it was time to go.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son Robert Earl; parents, Dewitt and Frances Anderson; brothers: Lonnie, Jake, And Ernest Anderson: sisters: Anna, Julie, and Ella B. Seals.
She leaves to mourn her passing, children: Lawrence, Jr. (Phyllis), Donald (Kim), Billy, Zelma (Arthur) Boston, Wendell (Kimberly); step-daughter, Sandra Nevels of Austin, TX.; a granddaughter she raised as her own, Madlka Stryjk (Dennis); sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Anderson of Bartlett, T.X.; a special nephew, Lindsey Ray Seals (Desiree); Thirteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
