Thastal White Obituary

Thastal  White (Teddy) was born May 19, 1952 to Mattie Hilliard Wells and John Thastal White both preceded him in death. Ted was raised by Rosetta and  Fred Hilliard, his grandparents. Ted professed to be a Christian at an early age at St. Lukes Baptist Church under the leadership Reverend W.J. Johnson.

Ted attended public school at Grant Elementary, Dunbar Middle School and Fox Tech High School. He ran track and played in the marching band. He played baseball with the Aces and the Blue Bells who were coached by Papa Change for the Christian youth Organization.

Teddy met and fell in love with Roslyn Routt (Rozzi). She was 12 and he was 15 years old. They were married May 31,1970 and until the Lord called him home. They had a love that nobody could break. In that union, there was one child born, their daughter Lisa White.

Ted later joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood then later went to Germany. While in the Army, he made rank of Sergeant. Ted went to college and received an Associate’s Degree in Business. Once out of the Army, Ted worked for Krogers and Albertsons grocery stores as a store manager for over 15 years. Then he went to work for Ancira Chevrolet and Ingram Park Nissan as a top car salesman for 6 years. He loved this job and was excellent at it.

Teddy was loved by many.
