Savannah L. Bolden was born April 19,1923, in Jacksonville, Texas to the union of Greene Lacy and Loveanna Fuller Lacy. She was the third of seven child born to this union. At an early age, Savannah professed her faith in Christ and dedicated her life to serving HIM, at New Hope Baptist Church in Jacksonville, TX.
She was a faithful and steadfast member of Westridge Park Baptist Church for 57 years, where she served as an usher until she could no longer serve, served on the Deaconess Board, Mission Board and other auxiliaries of the Church.
Savannah found the love of her life, Andrew James Bolden, Sr., in Jacksonville, TX while working in the CCC (Color Corp Camps) bear her family’s home in Jacksonville. They were united in holy matrimony in 1945. To this union of 43 years, three sons and one daughter were born, Andrew James ( Bridgett), Robert Hannibal, Frederick Lawrence and Cynthia Rene (James Curtis, Sr.) Vaughn.
She is also survived by her sister, Fannie B. Meadors, brother-in-law, Preston Meadors, seventeen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Andrew James Bolden Sr., son Frederick, her sisters Sivias Newsome Monmouth, Dora Mae Lester, Lilly Ferguson, her brothers Oneal Lacy and A.D. Lacy.
