RUTH DAILEY Obituary

 

Ruth Clay Dailey was born June 25th 1943 to William H Clay and Hester McCarty Clay in Port Lavaca Texas. She professed Christ at an early age and was baptized in Jesus name by Elder OJ Dixon at the Pentecostal Church of Christ in Port Lavaca Texas and received the Holy Ghost.

She received her formal education in the Port Lavaca educational system and graduated in 1961 from Calhoun High School in Port Lavaca Texas. She then attended Hicks Beauty School in San Antonio Texas and received her cosmetology license. Ruth was affectionately known as Duthie by her family

and close friends.

Ruth was United in holy matrimony to Carl Dailey Sr on August 18th, 1962, and to this Union three sons were born; Carl [r, James, and Darrell. While raising their sons, they fostered over 50 children. She served faithfully alongside her husband in ministry. Additionally, Ruth also served as Secretary of the Ministers Wives Department of the Texas State Council.

Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay. After her husband's health declined, she continued the duties of his mission until the Lord called her from labor to reward.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Hester Clay; two sisters: Ethel Dee Huddleston and Alice Shaw; three brothers: Raymond Clay, Wayne Clay OD), and James Clay (Floyd); and two of her sons Carl [r, and James Dailey.

Ruth departed this life on November 29,2019 and leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 57 years, Sr. District Elder Carl Dailey Sr.; son Darrell (Katherine) Dailey; granddaughters: Alicia Dailey (Houston, TX), Denyse Dailey, BreAna Powell (Houston, TX); grandsons: Carl Dailey III (Houston, TX) and Xerric Dailey; sisters: Barbara (Thomas) Gibson (Victoria, TX), Leola (Ray) Johnson (Detroit, MI), Arcenia (Ellis) Edwards (Victoria, TX); and brother: George Harry (Andrea) Clay (Victoria, TX); one aunt: Earnestine Kitchens (Cuero, TX) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
