PHYLLIS LORRAINE WATSON

Phyllis Lorraine Watson was born September 9, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to the union of Abraham and Mary Brownlow.  She was the youngest of five children and accepted Christ at an early age at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Jimmy Brown Sr., and to that union her first son, Jimmy Brown Jr, was born.   Later on in life she was united in marriage to Wilford Armstrong Jr, and to that union her second son, Wilford Armstrong III, was born.   She later married Lorenza Watson in October 1988, and while in that union became a 15 year member of Miraculous Temple in Oakland California.

The majority of Phyllis’ life was spent caring for others.   After graduating from Saint Peter Claver High School in 1969, she went on to complete her certification as a Licensed Unit Clerk at the Technical Vocational School.   She also received her certification in Cosmetology.   Phyllis had a 20 year career and retired at Kaiser Memorial Hospital in Oakland, California.

Phyllis was the definition of a Diva.   Her gorgeous smile, sense of style, and friendly demeanor will always be remembered by all who knew her.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents – Mary Bankston and Abraham Brownlow; grandmother – Lucille Doucette; sister – Gwendolyn Leach; and brother – Don Brownlow.  Phyllis leaves to cherish her memories, her oldest son Jimmy Brown (Mary), her youngest son Wilford Armstrong (Leslie);  3 grandchildren - Jarain Amberg, Jaelyn Brown, Jaquira Brown;  sisters – Linda Floyd,  Vicki Ball (Jesse);  nieces and nephews – Selby Johnson (Erica), Karenina Johnson, Tracy Phelps, Ronald Francisco (Christi), Jessica Ball, Kevin Ball; Stepmother – Ramona Brownlow; and a host of other relatives and friends.
