Luke Fashaw III Obituary

Luke Clyde “L.C.” Fashaw, III, the eldest son of Luke C. Fashaw, Jr. and Sharon (Houston) Fashaw, was born on April 21, 1982 in Fairfield, California.

He was called to rest on July 28, 2018 at the age of 36. Luke leaves behind his wife, Hannah (Sellers) Fashaw. He also leaves his two-year-old son, Luke C. Fashaw, “Blue”, IV.

Luke’s family relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 1991. He became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age.  Luke attended elementary and middle school within San Antonio Independent School District and graduated from G.W. Brackenridge High School in 2000. He later graduated from Ashford University with a degree in Accounting.

Luke married Hannah (Sellers) Fashaw and together they lived in Oklahoma and finally settled near Harker Heights, Texas. Luke made his living doing what he loved most; working with people and being involved in sports.  He held managerial positions in various businesses, officiating basketball games, and coaching youth sports. Luke’s ultimate dream was to be a National Basketball Association (NBA) referee and motivational speaker, but his heart was in coaching and inspiring the youth to be successful. He also maintained a passion for writing screen plays.

Family was a pillar for Luke; however, as important as he was to his family, he was equally special to a host of loved ones, friends, and the community. Luke’s ultimate ambition in life was to establish a legacy of encouragement, self-worth, and education.

In addition to cherished memories and beloved thoughts, Luke is survived by his wife, Hannah (Sellers) Fashaw; his son, Luke Fashaw, IV; his parents, Luke Fashaw and Sharon Houston; his brother, Miles Fashaw of California; his sisters, Sarah Lamkin and Deidra Fashaw; a brother-in-law, Keith Lamkin, Sr.; uncles, Phillip Houston and Charles Houston of California; aunts, Shawn Fashaw and Paulette Baker, both of California, Ollie Brown of Colorado, and Betty Mathews of Florida; cousins, Brittany Baker of California, Dana Brown, Sean Brown, and Devaughn Guthrie, all of Colorado; nephews, Christopher Fashaw, Anthony M. Swann, Keith Lamkin, Jr., and Dionte Lamkin; nieces, Camille Swann and Shakyra Lamkin; and a great host of other family and friends.

His brother, Michael X. Fashaw; paternal grandparents, Luke Fashaw, Sr., and Rosa Bell Fashaw; as well as maternal grandparents, Paul Houston and Bessie Owens Houston, preceded Luke in death.
